The legacy of Park School for Girls
Despite its reputation for academic success the school faced challenges in the latter years, including financial struggles, changing educational trends and declining pupil numbers. This ultimately impacted its ability to remain financially sustainable and, in July 2023, the decision was made by the school’s governing body to close the school. All efforts were made to support the transition for students, ensuring they found places in other local schools. The closure left a void in the community, but the Governors were determined to continue the Park School for Girls’ legacy and Park Charitable Trust for Girls was set up in June 2024.
Mission Statement & Objectives
To empower disadvantaged communities by providing access to educational opportunities, resources, and support that enhance personal and academic development, with a primary focus on girls.
Objectives:
- To improve access to education for children, and communities from underprivileged and disadvantaged backgrounds.
- To support projects that deliver measurable improvements in educational attainment and personal growth.
- To foster strategic partnerships with organisations that share our vision and values.
- To operate with transparency and accountability in the disbursement of grants and evaluation of funded projects.
- To invest in curriculum development, educational resources and training/mentoring, to support the educational ethos and attainment of schools and individuals.
